Deli Cravings is a family owned and operated Delicatessen established in 1999. Specialising in unique imported European and Australian produce. We value quality, with a range of fine meats and delicacies authentic to the countries of origin. We strive to provide a truly international experience in providing a selection of products that will transport you to the streets of Prague, Paris, Hamburg and many more.
Christa’s passion for her business, cheese, small goods and imported foods has grown stronger over the past 21 years. Always sourcing new products and ordering plenty to keep up the demand of sought after products for Canberra’s multicultural community. Following family tradition Christa’s daughter Jessica is part of the team and works alongside the motivated, friendly, knowledgeable staff at Deli Cravings.
Christa Potter started her journey and love of delis in her Mother Ingrid Prutti’s Delicatessen ‘Ingrids Delicatessen and Health Foods’ in Wanniassa ACT in 1979 as a 13 year old casual shop assistant.
Ingrid went on to purchase two more delicatessens in Canberra. Firstly Edelweiss Gourmet in Woden, then Belconnen Delicatessen at the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets. During this time Christa worked and helped her mum run the shops and owes all her knowledge to her.
The timing was perfect and an opportunity not to be missed when Joe the founder of Joe’s Delicatessen decided it was time to hang up his knives so Christa and her husband Andrew purchased the business in 1999. This was when Deli Cravings was born!
